Print-ready data
A digital base model is controlled by defined measurements. When the height or circumference changes, the cover geometry adapts. This creates a made-to-measure cover without rebuilding the model from scratch for every order.
Your prosthetics provider takes the measurements on the prosthesis. Depending on the version, these include cover height, upper and lower circumferences, and calf and ankle circumferences. The side, below-knee or above-knee fitting, and components such as the prosthetic foot or knee joint are also specified. The measurements required for your cover are agreed before the model is created.
With U-Flex, the spacers are integrated into the one-piece cover and adapted to the prosthesis. The area around the prosthetic socket and the movement of the components are taken into account. A magnetic or zip closure, colour and design are selected for the requested version.
The prosthetics provider orders the cover and submits the required information. The digital model is adapted parametrically and prepared for printing. Manufacturing follows once the information has been checked and the required approval received. Your provider checks the final fit and freedom of movement on the prosthesis.
Print-ready data does not mean the physical cover is ready for immediate delivery. Printing, finishing and the selected surface treatment require additional time.
A scan or additional photos may be required for unusual socket shapes, non-standard components or details that cannot be adequately described by the specified measurements. We work with the prosthetics provider to determine the appropriate approach.
